Falling In Love

23 Sep

Welcome to Fall. This time of year makes me reminisce on my courtship with JB. We met in August, but our romance flourished as the weather turned to Fall. The crisp weather and changing leaves evoke those feelings for me. We also got married in the Fall, so I think back to my anticipation of getting married as we ushered in the Fall.

Things are going well for us. We’re getting into a groove with the two kids. Little Miss has been enjoying preschool, and I’ve been enjoying living the life of a stay at home mom. I have her in preschool part time, so I am able to go get her after lunch time and let her nap at home, and spend some more quality time with her. I get to spend some quality one on one time with Little Man while she’s at school and napping. It works well, though the thought of returning to work looms in the back of my mind…

Little Miss has started lying recently. It’s so obvious it’s almost cute, but I’m trying to set the standards on lying early. The past two days, she told me she was going pee, and then I later found her standing in my sink getting into my make-up in my medicine cabinet. She recently told me, “when I grow up, I’m going to be a Mommy and I’m going to wear MAKE UP!” Glad to see she’s aiming high.

Meanwhile, here are some recent pics to tide everyone over!

I Pump, Therefore I Am

21 Sep

I’ve been pumping for 5 weeks. And yes, I still hate it. But I admit that I’m willing to do it a while longer because I just want Little Man to have some of my antibodies.

Damn pump.

Dearest Little Man,

Although I don’t want to encourage sibling rivalry already, I just wanted to let you know you’ll be 8 weeks old this week. Your sister started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks old. Please, consider her an inspiration.

Conspiracy Theory

1 Sep

The kids were conspiring today to ensure I didn’t get any sleep. After 3 nights of not much sleep and 3 days of so much activity I couldn’t nap, I was at my witt’s end today. All I wanted was a nap, but the kids took turns demanding my attention for the entire day. I went to bed at 8:30, turning them over to JB so that I could get much needed rest. Calgon, take me away!
